Looking ahead, Saruni and his supporters from the Fairplay SDA Church are prayerfully working toward a shared hope: to establish a school that would serve as more than a place of learning. This vision includes education for children in need, temporary support and school for orphans, regular meals for children facing food insecurity, reliable access to clean water through a well, and use as a church on Sabbaths. This is not presented as a finished plan, but as a faithful next step—growing out of years of service already given through the faithful work of Saruni and Matthew.
Currently students are meeting under a tree. A mother cooks two meals per day for the students so they receive nutrition to go along with their education. Our capital improvement plans for the future include:
- Acquire land for a permanent school compound.–DONE!
- Drill a well that can be used not only for students, but also to supply vital water to the community.–DONE!
- Build a multipurpose room that will initially be used for all activities (teaching, eating, worship, etc.).
- Build a two-room school house.
- Build a cafeteria with kitchen.
- Build a church.
